2017 SUMMER SCHEDULE

To participate in summer conditioning, weight lifting, practices, and games, athletes MUST have a 2017-18 athletic packet and physical completed and submitted to the athletic director PRIOR to any participation. Coaches will verify athletes on the 'Cleared List."

_______________________________________________________

All returning varsity and JV players have submitted their Summer/Fall Action Plan questionnaires.

The short summer program will begin June 13 and conclude with the Paso Firecracker tournament July 1-4.

The summer program is a series of games in scrimmage format, roughly 2-3 games per week.  The roster spots are first opened to returning varsity players and then to select available JV players and if there are still roster spots available, it may be opened to incoming freshmen.  Players are encouraged to find competitive travel organizations to play with in lieu of the HS summer program.  As of the present, it appears that the roster will fill sufficiently with current program players.

Incoming freshmen – sign ups are usually held in early November.  There will be announcements at the school at that time.  Conditioning will start shortly thereafter for those not participating in a winter sport.  We encourage multi-sport athletes and there will be ample time for those that do play other sports to get a fair tryout once their winter sport ends.  Competitive game experience is a key differential factor at the high school level.  We encourage freshman to find playing options some time between now and when they show up in the winter or early spring.  Babe Ruth second season and travel ball are typical options.  The travel team environment changes yearly in the area and requires research and effort to find a good fit.  Sometimes, travel out of the immediate area is necessary.

Get out and play and enjoy the game!
