Parents: H1N1 Flu Vaccine to be available at THS December 3rd

Templeton High School students will all have the opportunity to be vaccinated against H1N1 Influenza at our campus on December 3rd.  All of our students have received an information packet, there is a yellow page titled Screening Questionnaire and Consent for H1N1 Influenza Vaccination that needs to be signed and returned by December 19th in order to be elegible to receive the vaccine.  

If you did not receive the information packet, you can come to the High School Office to receive another copy, or download the packet from the  following pdf link.

Turkey Trot Family Fun Run

Would you like to participate in the Templeton Recreation Departments Turkey Trot?  This is fun for the whole family and there will be many prizes awarded!  The event takes place on Saturday, November 21st .  Please click on the following link for more information.

Today:
 
  • All students: The date for the H1N1 vaccination at THS is December 3rd. You can still turn in your forms at this point, but you will no longer be guaranteed a vaccine.
 
  •  Today is the last day to bring in cans for the canned food drive! Thank you to all who participated!
 
  • There will be a Senior Class meeting today during lunch in the Band Room. We will be voting on Senior Sweatshirt designs. If you have an opinion, now's your chance to voice it.
 
  • Come and watch the pumpkin pie eating contest today at lunch.
 
  • There is an FNL meeting today at lunch in D-9. Come to get information on Volleyball Intramurals and to get involved in the 24 hour relay!
 
New:
 
  • Congratulations to junior Joseph Farley, who correctly guessed Ashley Joordens as November’s Mystery Senior. Look in January’s edition of The Aerie for your chance to win a Starbuck’s Gift Card.
 
Ongoing:
 
  • The ASVAB is being offered on Wednesday, December 2nd. This test is one of the best vocational aptitude tests for career and future planning and it’s free! The test is available for all 10th – 12th graders. Taking the test does not come with any military obligations. Space is limited so sign up in the Career Center today. See your counselor if you have any questions.
 
  • To be guaranteed a yearbook you must purchase it by December 17th. 
 
  • Buy your yearbook by December 11th and be eligible to win a free yearbook.

AP Test Information

EXAM FEES:  UPDATED- The fee for each exam is $86.  THS gives an $8 discount which lowers the cost to $78 for each additional exam per student.  Fees for 2 exams = $164, 3 exams = $242, 4 exams = $320, and 5 exams = $398.  All exam fees for the 2009-2010 school year are due March 26.  Please plan ahead for payment.  Payments are being accepted online or

FEE REDUCTIONS/WAIVERS:  The College Board offers fee reductions and waivers for families/students who qualify.  Fee waivers and reductions need to be approved before the end of January.  Fee reductions of $22 per exam are available from the College Board for students with financial need. In addition, schools forgo their $8 rebate for each fee-reduced exam, making the final fee for these students $56 per exam.  In addition, virtually all states offer exam subsidies to cover all or part of the cost for eligible students. Talk to your AP Coordinator, Ms. Meece, to learn more about state and federal subsidies and other support that may be available to you.
